❓ Frequently Asked Questions

How is the highway toll fee calculated in Turkey?

ÜcretliYol automatically finds the route between the starting and destination points you enter, detects all the highway/bridge/tunnel toll gates it passes through, and calculates the total toll fee with current official tariffs based on your vehicle's class — across all 81 provinces.

What is a vignette (road sticker) in Bulgaria, and who does it apply to?

The vignette is a time-based (daily/weekly/monthly/annual), fixed-fee road usage sticker that applies to passenger and light commercial vehicles with a maximum authorized weight of up to 3.5 tons — it grants access to the country-wide highway network rather than a specific route.

How are vehicles heavier than 3.5 tons charged in Bulgaria?

These vehicles don't use a vignette — they use the Toll System (Тол системата, or BGTOLL for short) — an electronic, distance-based system tracked via a satellite-based (GNSS) on-board unit (OBU) or an approved mobile app.

Which countries does ÜcretliYol cover?

We currently offer full-coverage calculation in Turkey (81 provinces), Greece, Bulgaria, Albania, North Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro. We're working on Romania; Croatia, Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina are on our roadmap.

Can I calculate the toll fee for Romania?

Not yet. Romania is moving to TollRo, a new distance-based system for heavy vehicles, and actual fee collection is expected to start according to official sources. We'll add calculation support once the details are clear — you can read our article about TollRo, or submit Romania as a priority request via the form above.
